"This is certainly a great honor for Clint and I am very proud of him," Getman said. "Nobody works harder than Clint and it is nice to see all that hard work pay off by earning a spot on the national team."
Baumstark will be training under the U.S. U-20 national team coach Thomas Rongen. He joins a squad consisting of eight professionals and 10 collegiate players who were chosen to represent the United States at the CONCACAF Group B qualifying tournament in Charleston, S.C., Nov. 13-17. He will then train with the National Team in the spring.
Baumstark is listed as the team's third goalkeeper, behind Steve Cronin of Santa Clara and Ford Williams of North Carolina. The Thornton, Colo. native currently ranks second in the league in goals allowed average (1.07), shutouts (four) and ranks third in saves (55) as of October 24. He also currently ranks third on career shutouts in UAB history with 13, after collecting a single-season record nine saves in 2001.
