Women's Soccer Team To Host Tulane

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.----- The UAB women's soccer team (6-7-1, 3-3 C-USA) will host the Tulane Green Wave (5-8-1, 2-2-1 C-USA) on Friday, October 18, at 7 p.m. on West Campus Field.
Tulane is currently 5-8-1 and 2-2-1 in Conference USA. They are coming off two straight wins. On Friday, the Green Wave defeated South Florida, 1-0, while on Sunday, Tulane handed Eckerd a 4-0 defeat. The Green Wave's Colleen Lake needs just one more goal to become the first player in school history to record at least 20 career goals and 20 career assists.
The Blazers are coming home from a 1-0 victory over the Houston Cougars on Friday. The winning goal was scored by senior Cindy Penaranda in the 84th minute of play. The victory snapped a four-game losing streak by the Blazers. Goalkeeper Lise Nowoslawski got her second shutout of the season, saving seven shots in 90 minutes. The Blazers once again achieved victory on Sunday, when they soared past the TCU Horned Frogs 5-3. Junior Jill Knottek scored two goals and had two assists. Senior Adrienne Suffridge scored two goals and had one assist. Sophomore Tara Kidwell finished the game with a goal and three assists.
