BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB baseball coach Larry Giangrosso announced today the addition of Quincy Williams (Smiths, Ala.) and Kyle Leon (Guelph, Ontario), who have signed to play for the Blazers for the 2002 season.
Williams, a 5-foot-11 outfielder, played the last two seasons at Central Alabama Community College in Alexander City. The right-handed hitting leftfielder helped lead the Trojans to the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colo., last spring.
As for Leon, a 6-foot-3 outfielder, he transfers from Charleston Southern where he was a two-year starter.
"Even though these two players were signed late, they add quality depth to this team," Giangrosso said. "They should make an immediate impact for our program."
Both players will be juniors for the Blazer program.
