McDowell, GB&I Teammates Take Walker Cup Championship

Sea Island, Ga. - UAB's Graeme McDowell again was part of a winning team in doubles play, teaming with Michael Hoey to defeat Americans Nick Cassini and Lucas Glover two and one Sunday, as the Great Britain and Ireland team went on to capture the 2001 Walker Cup championship Sunday. The GB&I team finished with an overall total of 8? to the Americans' 7?.
McDowell was not as fortunate in singles play, once again falling to American star Bryce Molder, one up.On Saturday, Molder defeated McDowell two and one in singles play.
