SPRINGFIELD, N.J. - Graeme McDowell of the UAB men's golf team took one-and-a-half points out of a possible four points for the Great Britain and Ireland team during the Palmer Cup. The first day of play saw the partner events occur. During the fourball matches, McDowell and partner Justin Kehoe fell to Scott Lander and Nick Cassini. In the foursome matches with partner Jamie Elson, the duo fell to Nick Cassini and Lucas Glover. The singles matches, held today, proved to be more successful for McDowell. The USA defeated the GB&I team 18-6. The U.S now leads the series at 3-1-1, having won all three times the event was held in America. GB&I was the defending champion, winning last year 12 1/2-11 1/2.
