NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane women's basketball team held UAB to just one field goal in overtime, as the Green Wave posted a 71-62 win over the Lady Blazers at Fogelman Arena on Sunday.

After ending regulation tied at 56-56, Tulane scored the first four points of the extra frame thanks to a pair of free throws from Britt Themann and a jumper by Kelly Nadeau as the shot clock was running down. UAB cut the lead to three on a free throw from Mia Thrash, but Janell Burse answered with an old-fashioned three-point play. Another Thrash free throw cut the Tulane lead to 63-58 before Gwen Slaughter hit a lay-up to push the Wave advantage to seven.
