Three Men's Soccer Players Named All-South Region

Sophomore Marin Pusek (Brampton, Ontario) was named first team All-South Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), as the Blazers had three players honored on the all-region teams.
It is the first time the Blazers have had three players honored.
Senior defender Brantley Spillman (Griffin, Ga.) was named second team and senior forward Martin Rey (Buenos Aires, Argentina) was named third team.
The Blazers were 15-6 this season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament's ?Sweet 16,? winning their first to matches.
Pusek, played in 19 matches, scoring two goals with two assists. He was the key to getting the Blazers attack started from his midfield spot.
Spillman played the sweeper position this season and was one of the main reasons the Blazers allowed just 1.1 goals per match and had nine shutouts. The opposition attempted just 12.7 shots per match.
Rey led the team with 14 goals for the year, tying him for the third most in a season. He had five assists for 33 points, the fifth most points in a season. Rey scored four goals in the three tournament matches. He finished his career with 27 goals, third on UAB's all-time goals list. He was also third on the all-time points list with 69 for his career.
