DePaul Defeats UAB Women's Soccer

DePaul recorded just six shots on the afternoon but connected on two as the Blue Demons recorded a 3-1 women's soccer Confrence USA victory over UAB here Sunday afternoon at West Campus Field.
The Blue Demons (3-6-0) collected a goal in the opening half as a Blazer defender inadvertently headed the ball in the goal and then Amber Prindle scored off a corner kick less than two minutes into the final half to give DePaul a 2-0 advantage.
Jeannette Croce extended the Blue Demon lead with a shot from 18-yards away in the 54th minute, before the Blazers (1-7-2, 0-3-1) recorded their only goal by Jill Knottek, off a corner kick. For Knottek, it was her second goal of the season.
The Blazers held the Demons to just one shot in the opening half and collected a 13-6 shot advantage for the contest.
UAB returns to action in C-USA play Friday when they take on Southern Mississippi in Hatttiesburg, Miss. Match time is slated for 4 p.m.
