CHARLOTTE, N.C.... UAB (5-16, 0-9 in Conference USA) fell to Charlotte (10-12, 4-6 in C-USA) 18-16, 15-7, 15-1 in Conference USA volleyball action at Halton Arena.
Junior outside hitter Laura Burke led the Blazers with nine kills and eight digs and senior setter Heather Dempsey added 14 assists for UAB.
Charlotte was led by senior setter Ozlem Ozkan Ayture who had 10 kills, 30 assists, three service aces, five digs and two total blocks.
UAB returns home to Bartow Arena Tuesday to take on Conference USA rival Saint Louis at 7 p.m.
