Men's Golf Finishes Fifth in Inverness Intercollegiate

TOLEDO, Ohio -- The UAB men's golf team finished fifth in the Inverness Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by the University of Toledo. The Blazers finished the tournament at 900, 14 strokes behind the winner, South Carolina.
Sophomore Graeme McDowell shot a final round 72 to place tied for third. McDowel'sl total of 217 was four strokes off the pace of winner Scott Hayes of Michigan.
Other Blazers in the top-ten included sophomore Daniel Ozley, who finished ninth with a total of 222, and junior Payton Osborne, who finished tied for tenth, with a total of 223.
The Blazers will compete next in the Pacific Invitational 2000 in Stockton, Calif. on October 1-3.
