Tom Jaekel joins UAB for the 2025-26 season as an Athletic Communications Specialist. Jaekel serves as the primary contact for the Blazer's Volleyball, Softball, Bowling, and Beach Volleyball teams. Jaekel is the secondary contact for UAB Football and Men's Basketball
Jaekel spent three seasons as a Strategic Communications Assistant at Nevada, overseeing softball and men's and women's tennis during his final year with the Wolf Pack. Additionally, Jaekel assisted with communications efforts for Nevada football and volleyball during his three years in Reno.
A 2025 graduate of the University of Nevada, Jaekel holds a B.S., Business Administration - Management. He is currently earning his master's degree from the University of Washington, studying Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership.
Jaekel is a native of Tracy, Calif.
