Olivia Hooten was hired as the Assistant Director of Communications in January of 2024. She oversees the day-to-day public relations for UAB women's basketball, women's soccer, and women's tennis teams.

Prior to arriving in Birmingham, Hooten served as a Communications Fellow at Mississippi State from 2022 to 2024 where she served as the primary contact for the Bulldogs' volleyball and women's tennis teams.

Hooten is a 2021 graduate of Mississippi State. She served as a Student Communications worker at MSU spanning across her four years as a student at MSU. During her senior year, she served as the secondary contact for MSU volleyball, assisting in the coverage of the Bulldogs' run to the NCAA tournament in 2021.

Hooten is a native of Memphis, TN.
