Jason “Jay” Anderson has been a member of the UAB Department of Athletics since 2014 and was named Associate Athletic Director for Development/ Senior Director of Development in June 2022.
In his current role, Anderson provides leadership to the athletics development unit while directing all fundraising activities for UAB athletics initiatives including the fundraising strategy, donor messaging, annual work plan and solicitation matrix to meet the objectives of UAB Athletics and University Advancement. Jay also supports the university community as the chair of the UAB Athletics Hall of Fame committee, a charter member of Blazer Allies and a member of the UAB Advancement DEI committee.
Prior to joining UAB Athletics in 2014, Jay maintained a career in sales and service with stints in the graphic resource, airline and professional sports industries. As a life-long learner, Anderson continues to grow as a leader through his affiliation with the NCAA Leadership Development department, most recently graduating from the NCAA Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute. Jay also maintains membership in the National Association of Athletic Development Directors.
A native of New Jersey, Jay was recruited to Georgetown University where he enjoyed a two-year career in football and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the McDonough School of Business. Jay also holds a master’s degree in sports administration from Georgia State University.
