Darius Johnson joined UAB athletic staff as assistant strength and conditioning coach in July of 2023.
He is a native of Montgomery, Ala. and a two-time graduate of UAB, earning his bachelor’s in Kinesiology in 2018 and his Master’s in Exercise Physiology in 2021.
He was an intern for UAB Men’s Basketball for the 2022-‘23 season. Prior to that he was an intern for Samford University on the Olympic side where he assisted with men;s and women's basketball, volleyball, golf and softball.
He’ s a former UAB athlete on the Cheerleading team 2015-2018.
Darius is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA.
