Chandler DeRieux, the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, arrived at UAB in November of 2023.
DeRieux is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the compliance office, including creating a comprehensive rules education program, providing interpretations of NCAA rules, submitting NCAA waivers and violation reports and monitoring financial aid and eligibility for all 18 sport programs. He serves as liaison to admissions, university business office, university financial aid and the registrar's office. He also serves a key role in applying NCAA, American Athletic Conference and campus regulations within department operations and guiding the department in considering future legislation.
In addition to his direct UAB duties, he serves on the NAAC Education Committee since January 2024.
DeRieux graduated from Huntingdon College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management. He then continued his education at Auburn University at Montgomery earning a master’s degree in Sport Management in 2019.
DeRieux currently resides in Irondale, Alabama
