First year head coach Kari Bellville named Ashleigh Greenham as the new assistant coach of the UAB women’s golf program on Aug, 27, 2021.
Greenham joins the Blazers after serving as the volunteer assistant coach at Rutgers University, her alma mater, since December of 2020.
“I am very happy to add Ashleigh to our program,” said Bellville. “Her collegiate and coaching experience at the Power 5 programs adds valuable experience and knowledge that will help our team grow.”
Greenham began her career at Arizona State in 2014 before transferring to Rutgers in 2016. She earned two degrees at Rutgers and served as the team captain in 2018 and 2019. Her collegiate career was highlighted by eight top 10 finishes, including finishing runner up four times, and holding the Rutgers single round record of 66 (-6).
In addition to being team captain, she also served as the team’s community service coordinator. In this role, she had helped raise over $4,000 for the Rutgers Student Food Pantry through the Meal Swipes for Charity program.
Academically, she was on the Big Ten All-Academic Team in 2018 and was a WGCA All-American Scholar in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and her Masters in Human Resource Management.
Bellville and Greenham inherit six golfers from last year’s team and have added two freshmen to the roster. UAB’s first tournament is scheduled for Sept. 4 in Mobile.
