BIO: Delaney Rich, a 5-8 defender from Gulf Breeze, Fla., attended Gulf Breeze High School. She chose UAB because of the program’s strong team culture and exceptional academics. Rich helped lead her teams to two state/national championships and was ranked No. 1 nationally. In high school, she competed in both indoor volleyball and beach volleyball and has been playing beach volleyball for five years. Academically, Rich earned A/B Honor Roll recognition. She also participated in community service through volunteer work with the Take Stock in Children Laptop Program for three years and served as captain of her high school beach volleyball team for two years. Away from the sand, she enjoys skiing and going to the beach. Fun fact: she has been skiing since she was 3 years old.
