BIO: Ava Grace Knott, a 5-10 blocker from Chapel Hill, N.C., attended Chapel Hill High School. She chose UAB because of the outstanding coaching staff, her teammates and the program’s competitive atmosphere. Knott played indoor volleyball in high school and has been playing beach volleyball for 2.5 years. Academically, Knott earned National Honor Society recognition and was named an AP Scholar with Honors as well as an AP Scholar with Distinction. She has also been involved in community service through volunteer work at the Orange County Animal Shelter and held several leadership roles, including serving as captain of her senior-year indoor team, president of FCA in high school and co-vice president of the Smiles Across Miles club. Away from the court, she enjoys art, animals and her faith. Fun fact: she gave her dog a double name to match her own — Daisy June.
