Darius Johnson joined UAB athletic staff as assistant strength and conditioning coach in July of 2023.ย
He is a native of Montgomery, AL and a 2x graduate of UAB, earning his bachelorโs in Kinesiology in 2018 and his Masterโs in Exercise Physiology in 2021. He was an intern for UAB Menโs Basketball for the โ22-โ23 season. Prior toย thatย he was an intern for Samford University on the Olympic side where heย assistedย with M/W basketball, volleyball, golf, and softball.ย Heโ sย a former UAB athlete on the Cheerleading team 2015-2018.ย
Darius is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA.ย
