The UAB Department of Athletics and the BJCC have finalized a lease that is anticipated to begin during the 2021 football season. Protective Stadium will be located in Uptown or the BJCC district as part of a $300 million dollar project being taken on by the BJCC to renovate Legacy Arena and build this state-of-the-art, open-air football facility. The construction bid was recently awarded to Brasfield & Gorrie, so here is some helpful information to keep in mind as fans are interested in securing tickets in Protective Stadium.

Fans interested in securing seats when the Blazers kickoff in Protective Stadium are strongly encouraged to commit to season tickets for the 2020 season and become Blazer Boosters members. Blazer Boosters is the official fundraising arm of UAB Athletics and serves as the primary source of revenue for the athletics department. Members of Blazer Boosters are comprised of alumni and friends of UAB who recognize the impact they are having on UAB student-athletes.
Blazer Scholarship Fund is the athletics department's primary vehicle to offset annual scholarship costs for UAB student-athletes. All investments made to the Blazer Scholarship Fund go directly to scholarship support and allow our student-athletes to receive an elite education that prepares them for life. Blazer Boosters members are eligible to receive benefits such as priority seating, hospitality access, and invitations to private events. The Blazer Booster Priority Points System is used to rank members for benefit allocation including season ticket location, parking assignments, individual game tickets and post-season events, among other things. Priority points are accumulated for lifetime giving, current year giving, purchasing season tickets for consecutive years and being an active member of Blazer Boosters for consecutive years. Points are accumulated and cannot be lost unless a patron does not invest in Blazer Boosters or purchase season tickets in a given year.
