Christi Vincent joined the Office of the Athletic Director in March of 2008. She comes from a previous position as Administrator of the Sparkman Center for Global Health, where she spent time supporting the Center's efforts in contributing to solutions of health problems in developing countries such as Zambia, India, Jamaica, Peru, Thailand and Ukraine and where she had the unique opportunity to expand the UAB family into partner countries.
Prior to her position in Global Health, Christi worked in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as a teacher, with the honor of being selected to serve as educational liaison between the Saudi Arabian government and local international schools. She also served as Director of Jeddah Women's Group, developing relations and addressing the special needs of Saudi, non-Saudi Arab and expatriate women in the country.
Christi's past activities at UAB include her service as Vice-President of College Democrats, Co-Chair of School of Public Health Staff Council, Co-Chair of Film Series Committee, and memberships in organizations such as Center Stage Music Productions, etc.
Personal interests include a reforestation project she has initiated in the Peruvian Amazon and studies of the Arabic and Spanish languages. Her most recent volunteer efforts have been with The Literacy Council, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, and the Alabama Democratic Party. She is currently attending UAB and is married to Harold Pinedo, a native of San Ramon, Peru.
