Blake Klotz is going into his sixth year as an Assistant Director of Athletic Performance for Olympic Sports for the UAB Athletic Performance Department. Klotz started at UAB as a Graduate Assistant in 2011 where he designed and implemented a year-around program for the Women's Golf team. He also assisted in the implementation for the Football and Softball teams.
During his time at UAB, Klotz graduated with a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology in 2013. He has worked with an array of sports including Softball, Cross Country and Bowling teams. He also assists with UAB's football program.
After volunteering with the Murray State University Strength and Conditioning Department in 2009, he interned at MSU for the 2010-2011 year. There he designed and implemented programs for Women's Cross Country and the Racers' rifle team. Klotz also assisted in the implementation of programs for the Racers' Football, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Women's Soccer, and Women's Track Teams.
Klotz is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa). He has also obtained the USAW Level 1 Sports Performance Coach certification. Klotz also holds his CPR/AED training through the American Red Cross.
Klotz is a native of southern Illinois and graduated in 2008 from Murray State University. Klotz and his wife Erin reside in Hoover.
