Adam Loftis is an Athletic Performance Coach in his first year for the UAB Athletic Performance Department. His responsibilities include designing and implementing a year-around program for the Track and Field team and the Indoor Volleyball team.
Adam volunteered at the University of Nebraska Lincoln with Husker Power during the 2015 Fall Semester. He worked with the 2015 National Champion Volleyball team. He also assisted in the implementation of programs for the Huskers' baseball, softball, track and field, women’s soccer and rifle teams.
Adam is a native of eastern Nebraska and graduated from Hastings College in 2009. Adam played in the secondary and special teams for the Hastings Broncos football team, where he was a three-year letter-winner and an Academic All-American. After graduating he worked at Arlington High School with their football team as an Assistant Football and Strength Coach. While coaching there, the team made the playoffs all three seasons and tied a school record by going to the semifinals. While completing his Master’s Degree at the University of Nebraska Omaha, Adam begin working for Omaha Beef Indoor Football team. Adam worked as an Assistant Defensive Coach and Strength Coach with the Omaha Beef . After completing his Master’s Degree Adam joined Xplosive Edge, where he was the Assistant Director of Athletic Performance. There he worked with youth athletes all the way up to professionals. Adam’s responsibilities while at Xplosive Edge was writing workouts for all of their teams and groups, with an emphasis on athletic performance and injury prevention. He also was responsible for coordinating and developing the speed and agility drills.
Loftis is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS, RSCC). He has also obtained the Level 1 Sports Performance Coach certification through USA Weightlifting and holds his Fitness Nutrition Specialist certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
