Fourteen Student-Athletes Earn C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal

CHICAGO - A total of 14 UAB student-athletes have earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal during the 2001-02 academic year. The Medals are given to C-USA student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or above during the academic year.
UAB'S Medal winners for the 2002 season include Al Hecklinski (baseball), Katie Billue (women's basketball), Andrea Burdett (cross country), Heather Burdett (cross country), Blake Prime (football), Petra Hallberg (women's golf), Brooke Mangan (women's golf), Angelo Thompson (men's soccer), Lisa Nowoslawski (women's soccer), Denise Peters (women's soccer), Allison Maynard (women's soccer), Briana McCarty (women's soccer), Stephanie Davis (women's soccer) and Ellen Fleisher (volleyball).
A total of 280 C-USA student-athletes have earned the Commissioner's Academic Medal during the 2001-02 academic year.
