Nineteen Student-Athletes At UAB Earn Commissioner's Academic Medal

CHICAGO ----- A total of 325 student-athletes have earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal during the 2003-04 academic year, it was announced today. UAB placed 19 student-athletes on the list, up from 12 a year ago. The medals are given to C-USA student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above during the academic year.
Saint Louis had the most academic medal winners with 47, followed by TCU with 35, and Louisville and Southern Miss, each with 27.
As a whole, the number of C-USA student-athletes receiving the honor this year, exceeds the total of 303 from last year.
