Twelve UAB Athletes Honored With C-USA Academic Medals

CHICAGO ----- Twelve UAB student-athletes have been honored as Conference USA Academic Medal recipients for the 2002-03 academic year, it was announced Thursday.
A total of 303 student-athletes have earned the Commissioner's Academic Medal during the 2002-03 academic year. The Medals are given to C-USA student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above during the academic year. Saint Louis had the most academic medal winners with 52, followed by Louisville with 28 and TCU with 27.
UAB had 14 student-athletes receive the recognition during the 2001-02 academic year.
Postgraduate Scholarship winners and Scholar Athletes of the Year will be named on Friday, May 30.
