Memorial Service to be Held for Former UAB Student-Athlete Saturday

BIRMINGHAM ? A memorial service will be held Saturday for former UAB tennis and soccer player, Cecelia Lowstett, who passed away on March 6, 2002 from colon cancer.
The service will be held at 9:30 a.m. at UAB's West Campus field prior to the UAB women's soccer alumni game and Blazer Day 2002 festivities. If it rains, the memorial will be held in the HUC great hall.
In November, Lowstett flew to her home in Stolkholm, Sweden with her father to receive chemo therapy. On the morning of March 6, she passed away shortly after 5 a.m. at the age of 27. Lowstett is the Daughter of Jorgan and Christine Lowstett.
