Internship Position Announcement:
The UAB Department of Athletics has an internship opportunity available in the Marketing and Promotions Department. The internship is a 10-month paid position beginning on or near July 15, 2002. The internship will provide excellent experience in the area of marketing in a collegiate athletic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Marketing Intern will assist with all aspects of the marketing and promotions program at UAB. Specific duties are as follows:

Coordinating and carrying out promotions and marketing for select Olympic sports
Game day assistant for football and basketball
Promoting UAB Athletics on campus and throughout the community
Ticket sales
Assisting with special events planning and execution
Other duties as assigned by the Marketing Coordinator

Skills Required:
Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Working knowledge of computers and computer programs, especially Microsoft Office, is a must. Knowledge of Quark is a plus.
