Sales & Promotions Internship
Position Title: Sales & Promotions Intern
Available June 1: 9 month / one-year paid appointment
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- PC competent
- Flexible schedule, available to work weekend and evening events
Responsibilities:
- Supervise gate sales and admissions for selected men's and women's soccer, volleyball, baseball, and women's basketball events
- Assist with counter and phone sales for football, basketball, & Olympic sports and complete all related reporting
- Assist with ticket related functions for home football and men's basketball games including student athlete complimentary distribution
- Assist with marketing, promotions, and development offices for selected events Additional responsibilities to be assigned
Marketing and Promotions Internships
Internship Position Announcement:
The UAB Department of Athletics has two internship opportunities available in the Marketing and Promotions Department. The internships are 12-month paid positions beginning on or near May 15, 2003. The internships will provide excellent experience in the area of marketing in a collegiate athletic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Marketing Interns will assist with all aspects of the marketing and promotions program at UAB. Specific duties are as follows:
- Coordinating and carrying out promotions and marketing for select Olympic sports
- Game day assistant for football and men's basketball
- Promoting UAB Athletics on campus and throughout the community
- Assisting with corporate and group ticket sales
- Assisting with special events planning and execution
- Other duties as assigned by the Marketing Coordinator
Skills Required:
Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Working knowledge of computers and computer programs, especially Microsoft Office, is a must. Knowledge of Quark is a plus.
