UAB XC Releases 2025 Slate

BIRMINGHAM - UAB Cross Country and third year Head Coach Travis Pope have released the 2025 schedule. The slate features four regular season events and the potential to see Blazer runners in three postseason events. The schedule also sees UAB travel to two meets for the first time ever.
Opening Day for the Green and Gold will be on Friday, August 29 as they travel to compete in the Foothills Invitational in Oxford, Alabama hosted by Jacksonville State. This marks the fourth consecutive year UAB will start the season at the Foothills Invitational.
The Blazers will take a 3-week hiatus before continuing their schedule. On Saturday, September 20, UAB travels to the Firehawk Invitational in Danville, Alabama hosted by UT Southern. This is the first time ever the Blazers have traveled to a meet hosted by the Firehawks as well as traveling to Oakville Indian Mounds Park.
Two weeks later, the Blazers travel to SEC country to compete in the Chile Pepper Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. This marks the first time ever the Green and Gold compete in the Chile Pepper Festival as well as participating in an event hosted by the Razorbacks.
UAB's final regular season meet will be held on Friday, October 17 as the Green and Gold travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to compete in the Crimson Classic hosted by the University of Alabama. This will be the third consecutive season the Blazers will race in this meet.
Postseason action starts on Saturday, November 1 as UAB travels to Charlotte, North Carolina to compete in the AAC Cross Country Championships hosted by Charlotte. The race will take place at Frank Liske Park in nearby Concord, North Carolina.
The NCAA portion of the slate begins on Friday, November 14 as the Blazers will head to John Hunt Park in Huntsville to race in the NCAA South Regional Championships hosted by the University of North Alabama.
The 2025 season finale will be the NCAA Cross Country Championships held in Columbia, Missouri at the Gans Creek Cross Country Park hosted by Missouri. The Blazers last competed at the course in the 2019 season.
