UAB Beach Volleyball Concludes Best Season in School History

YOUNGSVILLE, La. – The UAB beach volleyball team's best season in school history came to a close on Friday at the Conference USA Tournament.

The Blazers played three matches on Friday and opened the day with a 3-1 loss to No. 16 FAU which moved them into the contender's bracket in the double-elimination tournament.

From there, UAB defeated Missouri State in dramatic fashion, 3-2, with Klea Sirois and Lauren Cairo once again clinching the dual with a three-set victory on Court 3 as they did on Thursday against UTEP.

The win against Missouri State then advanced UAB on to face FIU and the Blazers suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to the Panthers. UAB was victorious on Court 1 in straight sets and on Court 2 in three sets. FIU was able to claim courts three and five, and with the match even at 2-2, all eyes went to Court 4 and the Panthers were victorious in the third set, 15-7.

UAB finished with a program best 21-12 record and set with multiple individual and pairs records throughout the season.
