UAB Adds Five on National Signing Day

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB football program signed an additional five players on National Signing Day, bringing the total amount of signees to 31 for the class of 2025.
UAB's five February signees include Aaron Mattingly (TE), CD Gill (WR), Aidan Platt (OL), Donovan Lawrence (OL) and James Steel (DE).
Aaron Mattingly – TE – 6-5, 200 – Mount Juliet, Tenn./Green Hill
CD Gill – WR – 5-7, 160 – Saraland, Ala./Saraland
Aidan Platt – OL – 6-4, 285 – Auburn, Ala./Auburn HS
Donovan Lawrence – OL – 6-5, 250 – Dacula, Ga./Dacula
James Steel – DE – 6-4, 270 – Bear, Del./Caravel Academy
These five signees bring UAB's high school commitments to 10 overall including the five from the December signing period: Zach Johnson (DE, Midyear Enrollee), Ja'Lyen Judson (DB, Midyear Enrollee), Gabriel Cline (TE), Tristan Anderson (DB) and Jaylen Elder (WR).
Additionally, the Blazers added 21 players in the December transfer portal window who are enrolled at UAB and will participate in spring practice later this March.
