Brady Wilson Named to Rimington Trophy Watch List

BIRMINGHAM – For a second-consecutive season, center Brady Wilson has been named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List, which is annually presented to the nation's top center.
Wilson is UAB's top returning offensive lineman with 19 career starts under his belt, including starting all 12 games at center last season.
The redshirt senior was UAB's top graded lineman last year and according to Pro Football Focus, Wilson had an 81.6 pass blocking grade and allowed only two sacks across 485 pass blocking snaps in 2023.
Led by Wilson, the offensive line helped UAB set a school record with an average of 450.0 total yards per game in 2023 and with a loaded offense returning this season the Blazers look to surpass that mark in 2024.
The Rimington Trophy committee worked with Pro Football Focus (PFF) to narrow down its list to the top 40 centers. PFF grades every player on every play of every game on how well they execute their given assignment. That play-by-play grading allowed the Trophy committee to create a watchlist based both on nominations from the schools and data provided by PFF.
Wilson is just one of five centers from the AAC on the list, along with Brady Small (Army), Brent Self (Navy), Federico Maranges (FAU) and CJ James (UTSA).
The Rimington Trophy is a member of the National College Football Awards Association and the winner will be unveiled live on ESPN on Thursday, Dec. 12, during The Home Depot College Football Awards.
