Five Blazers Named to East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 Watch List

BIRMINGHAM – Five players from the UAB football team have been named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 Watch List, which identifies the nation's top NFL draft eligible players for its all-star game in late January.
The five Blazers are quarterback Jacob Zeno, running back Isaiah Jacobs, offensive tackle DJ Jones, defensive end Desmond Little and linebacker Michael Moore.
The 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on January 30. This year's game will be the 100th East-West Shrine Bowl.
UAB has had three players in the last two years participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl, and all of which are currently in the NFL: Starling Thomas V (Arizona Cardinals), Kadeem Telfort (Green Bay Packers) and Tejhaun Palmer (Arizona Cardinals).
Zeno and Jacobs were part of UAB's record-setting offense last season, while DJ Jones is a grad transfer from Murray State with NFL talent and is expected to anchor UAB's offensive line this season.
Little is the team's returning sacks leader from 2023, while Moore had 63 tackles in 10 games last year and will play a full season at middle linebacker for the Blazers this year after splitting time at outside and middle linebacker in 2023.
The Blazers are 36 days away from opening the 2024 season at home against Alcorn State on Aug. 29. Single game tickets are on sale for season ticket holders only, and go on sale to the general public on Aug. 1. Season tickets are still available by clicking here.
