UAB Men’s Tennis Splits with Auburn, Mississippi Valley State

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's tennis split a pair of matches on Tuesday at Auburn. The Blazers fell, 7-0, to the Tigers before sweeping Mississippi Valley State, 7-0.
Auburn 7, UAB 0
In the first match of the day, UAB nearly captured the doubles point, but fell in a tiebreaker on Court Three.
DOUBLES
Auburn was in control in singles play, taking all six courts. Carlos Gimenez Perez battled to a tiebreaker in the second set, nearly forcing a deciding third set against the No. 73 player in the ITA rankings.
SINGLES
UAB 7, Mississippi Valley State 0
The Blazers then dominated the second match of the doubleheader, sweeping the Delta Devils.
DOUBLES
UAB did not drop a point during singles play, sweeping all of the singles points.

The Blazers will travel to Fort Myers, Fla. to face Florida Gulf Coast and UNC Asheville this weekend.
