Jasmine Haas Named to Preseason All-Conference USA Team

BIRMINGHAM – Reigning Co-Freshman of the Year Jasmine Haas has been named to the 2024 Preseason All-Conference USA Beach Volleyball Team, the league announced on Thursday.
Haas enters her sophomore year after a record-setting rookie season in 2023. As a freshman, Haas played on Court 1 and compiled the most wins (20) by a freshman in school history. She finished the season with an overall record of 20-14 and became just the fifth player in school history to reach 20 wins in a single season.
For her efforts, she was named the Conference USA Co-Freshman of the Year while earning First Team All-Conference USA honors and being selected to the Conference USA All-Tournament Team.
Haas's top wins last season came against South Carolina, Pepperdine, FIU, Tulane (twice), and UT Martin. Her stellar play helped UAB set a program record for single season wins (18) as she led UAB to the Conference USA semifinals.
"Jazzie had an incredible showing in her freshmen year with 20 wins primarily on Court 1," Head Coach Delaney Clesen said. "Teams have to prepare to play against Jazzie. She may be 5-foot-4 but she is a force to be reckoned with. She's continuing to level up and I'm excited to have her lead the team this year."
Haas and her partner Arden Copping will once again occupy Court 1 for the Blazers, who open their season this weekend, Feb. 24-25, at the GCU Tournament in Phoenix. While in Phoenix, UAB will play Arizona Christian, Ottawa (Ariz.), Boise State and No. 14 Grand Canyon.
