BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's golf team placed fourth overall out of 14 teams at the UNCG/Advance Golf Partners Collegiate at Hammock Creek Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Grace Sinclair led the Blazers by tying for seventh place overall. Sinclair (74-78-71 = 223, +7) moved up 11 spots in the final round with a one-under 71.
Emilia Smith opened the tournament with a two-under 70 and ultimately finished in a tie for ninth place overall (70-81-73 = 224, +8).
Brooke Wagner was UAB's third finisher at +16 and carded a low round of 76 in the second round. Wagner tied for 25th overall.
Tais Moreno (76-78-81 = 235, +19) and Millburn Ho (77-83-78 = 238, +22) tied for 33rd and 50th, respectively to round out UAB's efforts.
After defeating Samford head-to-head prior to this tournament, the Blazers now have a spring record of 11-3-0 and have improved their overall record to 31-33-1.
UAB is back in action this coming Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 19-20, at the Great Rive Cup hosted by Southern Miss in Gulfport, Miss.
