2024 Hall of Fame Spotlight: Frank Schaffner

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB Department of Athletics will be inducting former tennis player Frank Schaffner into the Class of 2024 UAB Athletics Hall of Fame.
Schaffner was UAB's first tennis All-American, earning ITA All-America honors during his junior season in 1992. He reached at high as No. 7 in the nation in singles competition during his career and was the first Blazer to participate in the NCAA Singles Championships in 1992 before returning the following season in 1993. Over his standout career at UAB, he accrued a singles record of 116-33, earning two Conference Most Valuable Player Awards.
Following his standout career as a Blazer, the UAB Department of Athletics retired Schaffner's racket on November 30, 1994.

The UAB Department of Athletics will honor five individuals including Frank Schaffner at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony at The Florentine on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. Tickets to the event must be pre-purchased by clicking here. The last day to buy tickets for the induction ceremony is Wednesday, Oct. 30.

The UAB Department of Athletics will recognize five Blazer legends during UAB Football's Homecoming game against Tulsa on Saturday, Nov. 2. Tickets to the homecoming game can be purchased by clicking here with kickoff scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
