Moore Named to Becky Hammon Player of the Year Midseason Watchlist

BIRMINGHAM – Redshirt sophomore guard Mia Moore has been named to the Becky Hammon Player of the Year midseason watch list, which is presented by Her Hoop Stats.
The Becky Hammon Player of the Year Award is given to a non-Power 5 player and Moore is one of 15 student-athletes named to the midseason watch list and the only player from the American Athletic Conference.
Moore currently has UAB tied for first place in the AAC as UAB sits at 13-4 overall and 4-1 in league play. Moore has been sensational in her first year with the Blazers with current averages of 16.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
At 5-foot-6, Moore is leading the AAC in rebounds per game at 10.0 which ranks her 27 nationally. She has a league-best nine double-doubles this season and has five 20+ point scoring games.
Along with leading the league in rebounds and double-doubles, Moore also ranks first in defensive rebounds (7.19), third in free throw percentage (82.0), fourth in minutes played (33.5), fifth in field goal percentage (.478) and seventh in scoring (16.3).
Moore and the Blazers look to continue their momentum on Sunday, Jan. 21, when the Blazers host UTSA. Tip is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
