Battle for the Bones BBQ Contest Registration Now Open

BIRMINGHAM β The UAB Department of Athletics has officially opened registration for the Battle for the Bones one-meat rib contest on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, outside of Protective Stadium.

The Battle for the Bones BBQ Competition will be held in celebration of the UAB-Memphis football rivalry game. The competition is a one-meat ribs contest sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue society and is open to professionals and amateurs.Β KCBS Backyard contest rules apply.Β

The deadline to enter the Battle for the Bones contest is 5 p.m. CST on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023, and limited spots are available. Once sold out, a waiting list will be available. The kick time for the UAB-Memphis football game will be announced Monday, Oct. 9, 2023. Check-in, cooks meeting and turn in times are subject to change.

3rd Place (Ribs) - $250

ENTRY FEE - $200
Your entry fee will include the following:
- Registration into BBQ Contest
- One 20x20' cooking site
- One parking pass
- 10 tickets to the UAB-Memphis football game
