Track & Field Sets PRs in Days 1 & 2 of Conference Championships

DENTON – UAB Track & Field concluded their circuit in the multis at the first two days of the 2023 C-USA Track & Field Championships. Distance would also start off the night with the Women's 10K, where the Blazers finished top five in the event for the night.
Megan Hamilton Strong and Laney Kronz represented the Green and Gold in the Women's Heptathlon, where both athletes tallied PRs throughout days one and two.
On the first day, the heptathlon began with the 100mH, which Hamilton Strong and Kronz set personal bests in. Kronz finished with a 14.07, placing her third in the event, while Hamilton Strong finished fifth with a 14.46. The freshman would go on to place second in shot put with a throw of 11.78m, while Kronz took fourth in the 200m with a 25.65.
For day two, Hamilton Strong finished with a strong outing, finishing first in the 800 meter, and sixth in the javelin throw. Kronz also added to her score to give both ladies a new total score PR in the heptathlon. Hamilton Strong finished with a 4930, while Kronz finished with a 4605 on the evening.
In distance, the women's 10K would be one of the final events of the night, with Lauren Charlton finishing fourth overall.

Day three of the C-USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships begins Saturday, May 13 at 10 AM, starting with men's discus.
