UAB Bowling Travel to the Sunshine State Classic

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Bowling travels to Orlando, Florida for the Sunshine State Classic hosted by Sacred Heart University and Stephen F. Austin State University. The tournament will take place Feb. 10-12, kicking off on Friday at 9:30 EST.
The Blazers will be represented by bowlers Keagan Trexler, Savannah Schneider, Shauna Rodgers, Madelynn Oliva, Kacey Marshall, Jillian Hulsey and Jamie Krasnigor.
LOOKING BACK
The tournament has had a few name changes over the years depending on the selected host team.
UAB competed in the Wildcat Classic that was hosted by Bethune-Cookman University in the spring of 2020 where the Blazers took home third place (9-3).
In 2019, UAB participated in the Sunshine State Winter Classic where the team collected it's 5th Top-10 finish of the season (7th, 8-5).
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The Sunshine State Classic is based on a scratch scoring system where total pins will determine bracket seeding for Sunday.
On Friday, five Baker total pin fall matches will be played followed by five team game matches on Saturday. With 12 teams competing, Sunday's schedule will look a little different from a normal Championship Sunday schedule. There will be one team game with the addition of two Baker Best of Seven matches in bracket play.
