Madison Colston Named Week 1 MEAC Rookie of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has named Madison Colston the MEAC Week 1 Rookie of the Week for her performance in the Colonial Lanes Classic in Harahan, La. hosted by Tulane.
The freshman from Pinellas Park, Fla. finished with a 19.58 pins per frame average, a 47.1 strike percentage and averaged 8.83 pins on first ball. In Baker play, she put together a 19.81 pins per frame average and totaled an 83.6 fill percentage for the weekend.
In the five traditional games, Colston had two games of over 200 total pins with a high of 216 pins, which came in game three. Colston's high mark of 216 pins was the third most pins in a game on the team for the tournament.
Colston's performance propelled her to a 31st place finish in her first collegiate tournament, which was third best on the team behind Keagan Trexler (15th) and Madelynn Oliva (28th). UAB as a team finished in ninth place out of 16 teams that competed in the Colonial Lanes Classic.
