BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Department of Athletics and Blazer Sports Properties/Learfield have once again partnered with Protective Life Corporation (Protective) to recognize community organizations through their Most Valuable Protector (MVP) program during each of UAB's six home football games this fall. MVP recognizes local non-profit organizations that make a difference in the greater Birmingham area. Protective is also committed to driving positive local impact, and the MVP program proudly honors non-profits that share that mission.
"We are so excited to have the opportunity to introduce the Blazer fans to these amazing MVPs", said Eva Robertson, Vice President for Community Relations for Protective Life Corporation and Executive Director of Protective Life Foundation. "Through our MVP recognitions, we highlight and support organizations in our community that are doing important work to keep the magic alive. These are Birmingham's protectors."
This year's Protective MVPs are recognized on the field during each home game and will have the distinction of presenting the game ball to the officials.
Sept. 1 vs. Alabama A&M – Ed Farm
Sept. 17 vs. Georgia Southern – Better Basic
Oct. 8 vs. Middle TN State – Children's Harbor
Oct. 15 vs. Charlotte – Girls on the Run
Nov. 5 vs. UTSA – Birmingham Athletic Partnership
Nov. 12 vs North Texas – Alabama Symphony Orchestra
Protective is proud to be a part of Blazer gameday with the MVP program and as naming-right sponsor of Protective Stadium.
