Jermaine Brown Jr. Named to Paul Hornung Award Watch List

BIRMINGHAM – Jermaine Brown Jr. has been named to the Paul Hornung Award, which is annually presented to college football's most versatile player.
Brown Jr. is one of the top multi-threat players in the nation. He is coming off a junior campaign in which he compiled over 1,000 all-purpose yards with 631 rushing yards, 200 receiving yards and 184 kick return yards.
The Mobile, Ala. native averaged 5.1 yards per carry in 2021 and added seven rushing touchdowns as well.
Brown Jr. was recently named to the 2022 Doak Walker Award Watch List and makes up one of the top 1-2 punches at running back with teammate DeWayne McBride. These two are the only returning running back tandem in the nation who combined for 2,000 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns last season.
The Blazers are just 35 days away from opening the 2022 season on Sept. 1 against Alabama A&M at Protective Stadium.
