Kadeem Telfort Named to Outland Trophy Watch List

BIRMINGHAM β Left tackle Kadeem Telfort has been named to the Outland Trophy Watch List, which is annually presented to the nation's top interior offensive or defensive lineman by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).

Telfort is entering his third and final season at UAB and has been a force for the Blazers. He started all 13 games last season and has started 17 of the 19 career games he has played in.

Telfort helped the Blazers rush for 180.2 yards per game last season while. He is one of four returning starters on UAB's offensive line in 2022 as this unit is expected to be one of the best in the nation.

The Miami, Fla. native is one of five Conference USA players selected to the Outland Trophy Watch List and one of 29 offensive tackles on the list. Including defensive players, there are 89 total players on this year's watch list.

The Outland Trophy winner is chosen from three finalists who are a part of the annual FWAA All-America Team. The FWAA All-America Committee, after voting input from the entire membership, selects a 26-man first team and eventually the three Outland finalists. Committee members, then by individual ballot, select the winner. Only interior linemen on offense or defense are eligible for the award; ends are not eligible.
