C-USA Releases Football Watch List, Predicted Order of Finish

BIRMINGHAM – Five members of the UAB football team have been named to the Conference USA Football Watch List, as the league released that and the predicted order of finish on Monday.
The five Blazers on the C-USA Watch List are running back Jermaine Brown Jr., offensive lineman Kadeem Telfort, defensive lineman Fish McWilliams, cornerback Mac McWilliams and punter Kyle Greenwell.
Additionally, UAB was picked to finish second in Conference USA behind reigning champion UTSA. The Blazers (8) and Roadrunners (14) were the only two teams to receive first place votes, which was decided on by the league's voting media members.
Brown Jr. makes up half of a lethal 1-2 punch in the backfield as he and DeWayne McBride were both named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List, which is annually given to the nation's top running back.
The backfield has the luxury of running behind left tackle Kadeem Telfort who enters his third year as a Blazer. The 6-foot-8, 330 pounder has been a dominant force for the Blazers and anchors a veteran line that has averaged over 200 rushing yards per game each of the last two years.
Fish and Mac McWilliams, who are brothers, are candidates to have major breakout seasons in 2022. Fish enters his fourth year as a contributor and has the most experience on the defensive line that has been a major reason for UAB's success over the last five years. Mac was a Conference USA All-Freshman Team honoree last year, and despite suffering an injury midway through the season, he started the first six games of the year and was a lockdown corner until the injury.
Greenwell enters his fifth year as UAB's starting punter and will end his career as the school record holder in every major punting category. He already has the most punt yards in school history and is three punts away from having the most punts in program history.
