UAB Lands on WBCA 2021-22 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's basketball team has been earned a Special Mention place on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll, the organization announced this morning.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2021-22 season is the 27th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
This year's release also marks the first year in which all teams which qualified for the top 25 rankings with the minimum 3.0 GPA also are recognized for their academic accomplishment.
"We are certainly proud of our teams efforts in the classroom as they continue to compete for championships in everything they do," said head coach Randy Norton.
UAB finished the 2021-22 school year with a 3.478 GPA and had the highest GPA of any Conference USA team on the list. The Blazers' team GPA was higher than Stanford, Notre Dame, Dartmouth and Vanderbilt.
"They are an amazing group of young ladies and they continue to do an outstanding job of representing our UAB women's basketball program and our university," added Norton.
Women's Basketball season tickets are on sale by purchasing the 2022-23 Gold Card for $65 here. The 2021-22 Gold Card will get you access to all home events for Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, Volleyball, Women's Basketball, Softball, and Baseball (Regions Field & Young Memorial). This card is not valid for Conference USA or NCAA Championship events.
