Green Defeats Gold 16-6 in Pepsi Spring Game

BIRMINGHAM – On a crisp and clear Saturday afternoon, Green defeated Gold 16-6 in the Pepsi Spring Game at Protective Stadium.
Quarterbacks Bryson Lucero and Damon Stewart led the Green team victory, while Zeus Perryman scored the game's lone touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Place kicker Matt Quinn was a perfect 5-of-5 to account for the game's other points.
"The game was controlled today, we don't run all of our offense or defense, but I think they came out here and were focused," head coach Bill Clark said. "We didn't have many issues and we protected the ball for the most part, so it was a good solid day all around."
The Green defensive efforts were highlighted by redshirt freshman Keon Handley Jr. who accounted for the games only two turnovers with a fumble recovery and an interception.
Saturday's Pepsi Spring Game concluded a very good spring for the Blazers who enter the 2022 season full of veteran talent and should once again compete for the Conference USA title.
Season tickets for the 2022 UAB Football season are now available starting as low as $90. Season ticket packages will feature all six home games and provide the most cost-effective way to attend games during the second season at Protective Stadium.
