UAB Men's Tennis Adds Carlos Gimenez Perez to Roster

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's tennis team and head coach Justin DeSanto have announced the addition of Carlos Gimenez Perez to the 2022-23 men's tennis roster.
Gimenez Perez, an incoming freshman from Alicante, Spain, will join the Blazers for the Fall 2022 season. He has notched wins over ATP No. 909 and No. 1583 during his playing career, besting a former ITF Junior No. 50 in November 2021. Gimenez Perez is ranked No. 20 in Spain's U18 boys' rankings.
UAB also signed Bolivian international Iker Dellien and Huntsville, Alabama native Kaustubh Holcomb in November. Dellien, Holcomb and Gimenez Perez will join the Blazers this fall.

UAB will conclude its home schedule on Friday when the Blazers host Tennessee Tech and West Alabama for a doubleheader at the Lakeshore Tennis Courts. UAB's opening match against Tennessee Tech is scheduled for noon, while the Blazers' final match of the day is set to begin at 4 p.m.
